Job Summary The Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) Institute at the University of Utah has recently opened a Computer Professional position for a qualified programmer/software developer. The focus of this position will be software development within several software environments within the SCI Institute, such as SCIRun, VisTrails, ImageVis3D in addition to other visualization software systems such as VTK and VisIt. Responsibilities A particular focus of this position will involve working with science and engineering collaborators on visualization projects. This position will interact with personnel ranging from senior researchers (Ph.D. level) to students. Qualifications The SCI Institute is looking for an individual who is available for a full time commitment and has either completed a CS or CE bachelor's degree or related field with computational experience. Highly developed C++ programming skills are essential for this position. A firm knowledge of OpenGL, Python, and VTK is also highly desirable. Additionally, the applicant must be familiar with one or more versions of Unix (IRIX, Linux, Mac OS X, etc). Experience with Makefile systems, configure, svn or cvs, and other unix tools is also important. Being self-motivated and having good organizational and communication skills is essential. Work Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week.
